A CALL of nature from a cow could soon leave someone flushed -with cash.

For when she makes a deposit in her favourite field, someone, somewhere, is in line for a cheque for £1,000.

Anica, an 11-year-old Friesian from Melvyn Peacock's Grange Farm in Bedale, has been recruited as the star of a guess-where-the-cowpat-falls fund-raising stunt in aid of Rise Carr primary school in Darlington.

Tickets are being sold at 50p for every square foot of the field - the size of a football pitch - where Anica grazes.

Melvyn's wife Andrea, deputy headteacher at the school, came up with the idea with the help of a group of parents and now all eyes will be on Anica when the big day comes in October.

"No-one knows where Anica will wander or when the call of nature will come upon her, but her every step will be watched and monitored, and, when she finally does perform, carefully measured."
