SHINEY ROW Male Voice Choir is on the look-out for singers for the new season.

The choir, which performs throughout the region, is holding an open night when would-be recruits can meet its members, on Friday, next week at 7.30pm in Trinity Methodist Church, Chester Road, Shiney Row. HEALING SESSION: The National Federation of Spiritual Healers is holding a session tomorrow in the Shakespeare Hall, North Road, Durham, from 1.30pm until 4pm. Sessions are held on the second and fourth Saturdays of each month.

ART DISPLAY: The Beamish Hall Art Group, which is celebrating its golden jubilee, is holding an exhibition of members' work in the main foyer at County Hall, Durham, from Tuesday to Friday, September 3 to 13. Admission is free.

SINGERS WANTED: Durham Choral Society is on the look-out for singers, particularly young ones, for its new season - which includes Faure's Requiem and work by Beethoven. SLIDE SHOW: Historian Michael Richardson will give a slide show of photographs, Durham City Remembered 1935 to 1960, at St Cuthbert's Church Hall, East Rainton, on Thursday, September 5 at 7.30pm. Admission costs £1.50 for adults and £1 for concessions.

VILLAGE OUTREACH: Durham Citizens' Advice Bureau will hold one of its regular village outreach sessions on Tuesday, at Bowburn Community Centre from 11am to noon.
