Blaydon clinched the championship when they defeated Backworth in a play-off. Backworth who had won the Northumberland section, totalled 120 for the loss of three wickets with Charlton carrying his bat for 25, Bradford scoring 20 and Telford 24.

Mark Cawthorne was the pick of the Blaydon attack taking two wickets for 25 runs in five overs.

In response Blaydon secured the necessary runs for the loss of four wickets. Gary Stewart contributed 41 and Ryan Latimer carried his bat for 40 and for Backworth Knox took two of the four wickets to fall for 29 runs in four overs.
