Blackfyne

The Under 8s beat Ryton 4-0 with goals from Jonathan Telford (2), Phil McConnell, & Calvin Hillary. Keiran Martin was MoM.

The Under 9 Greens beat Swalwell 3 - 0 with goals from David Edwards, Mark Shaw and Andrew Turnbull who was also MoM.

The Under 10s Blackfyne Bullets beat Redheugh W 2-0 with goals from Benjamin Camsell and Sam Taylor. Peter Westgarth was MoM.

Blackfyne Gunners lost 1-0 to Low Fell Magenta in a very tight game. Callum Davison was MoM.

The Under 11s beat Leam Rangers 12-0. Chris Walker scored one and was MoM. Other scorers were Chris Jennings (4), Shaun Wood (2), Matthew Swinburn (2), Paul James and Haydn Hill.

The Under 12s beat Leaholme and Counden in the County Cup 12 - 0. Andrew Rennoldson (4), Steven Shaw (3), Anthony Donaghy (2), Daniel Walker (2) and Matthew Punton were the goal scorers.

The Under 13s Blackfyne pushed Champions Redheugh all the way only to lose out 4-2. Connal Reed and Steven Davison scored the goals and Christopher Muncaster was MoM.

Apollo Doors Gateshead Youth League

The goals flowed when Blackfyne visited Leam Rangers and won 12-0. Chris Jennings rifled four goals and others on target were Shaun Wood (2), Matthew Swinburne (2), Chris Walker, Paul James, Chris Jennings while an own goal accounted for one of Blackfyne's 12.

There were nine goals when Heworth finished 6-3 winners over Hebburn Reyrolle. Joe Robb, Jacob Kirkley, Jeffrey Mulholland, David Farrell and Ross Peareth (2) netted for Heworth, with Jos Nicholson, Craig Malley and Stewart Smith on the mark for Hebburn, who led 2-0 at the interval.

There was a closer result when Prudhoe finished 3-2 ahead of Consett. After building up a three-goal interval lead with goals by Ben smith (2) and Anthony Porter, Prudhoe had to withstand a strong Consett rally during which Glen Fletcher bagged a brace of goals.

Aaron Goldsmith, Tom Goldsmith and Shaun Coulson led Redheugh to a narrow 3-2 win at Felling Magpies whose goals were scored by Dean Palmer and Lewis Reynolds.

Low Fell hammered Beamish 7-1 when Ricky Fenwick (4), Liam McNall, Reece Davidson and Adam Wright all found the net. Harvey Wilkes scored a consolation goal for Beamish.

Kevin Hempsall hit a hat-trick and Charlie Lamb was Redheugh's other scorer in a 4-2 win at Blackfyne for whom Stephen Davidson and Connell Reed replied.

Three players scored four times when Blaydon hammered Low Fell C 16-0, scoring eight times in each half. Viv Graham, Kevin Moreland and Andrew Wright were the principal scorers with Blaydon's other goals coming from Gary Kelly (2), Adam Baba and Chris Nichol.

Michael Currey, Anthony Reay and David Anniston were all among the goals as Leam Rangers defeated Consett 3-1. Liam O'Connor scored for the Steelmen during the second period after they had gone three goals behind.

In the Under-14 division Whickham and Felling Magpies drew 3-3. Michael Banks, David Waugh and Daniel Elliott netted for Whickham with Graham Jones and Stephen Mulholland (2) on the mark for Magpies. Gary Archibald (2) and Zulman Aga netted in Cleveland Hall's 3-2 success over Beamish who responded through Craig Patey and Martin Gladden.

Andrew Robson (2), Martin Williams (2), Scott Donaldson, Scott Swanson and Dan Morrissey all found the net in Redheugh's runaway 7-0 victory over Consett while Leam Rangers struck 18 times at Cooperhall who failed to reply. Most of the goals for Leam Rangers came from Jamie Straughan, Jamie Croald and Sam Wheeler who all hit hat-tricks.

Shaun Vipond (2), Shaun Sagers (2) and Craig Watson were responsible for Blaydon's five goals in their home victory over Blackfyne for whom Shaun Donaghy hit a consolation goal.

At Under-15 level Blaydon ended 3-1 in front of Redheugh with strikes by Chris Hill (2) and Carl Pieda. Craig Stephenson netted for the Reds. Daniel Gibson (2), Dean Tempest (2), John Campbell, Stephen Bigger, Mark Toth and Danny Price all found the net in Cleveland Hall's big 8-0 success at Beamish, while Consett just had the edge on Ryton, winning 3-2 with goals by Ben Gibson and Adam McVickers (2). Michael Clark and Lee Morton scored for Ryton.

Fairs Software Tyneside Junior League

Because of county commitments, only one game took place and Redheugh won for the fourth consecutive time defeating Consett 6-2.

Most of the goals scored during the first period at the end of which the Reds led 5-1. Stephen Small, Danny Olusaga and a hat-trick from Chris Laws had Consett chasing the game and when Olusaga hit a second goal during the second period there was no way back for the Steelmen. Andrew Morgan and Michael Frazier were the Consett scorers.

Redheugh are second in the table to Walker Central, who have won all five games, while the Reds have played four fixtures.

Consett meanwhile, are joint bottom of the table with Felling Magpies and neither side had yet gained a point.

Durham County FA Under-12 Cup

Leam Rangers just had the edge over Whickham Fellside, but they needed extra time before reaching the next round with a 4-3 victory. Scott Anderson, Reece Cummings, Jamie Dodds and Andrew Lee all scored for Leam Rangers who trailed 3-1 at the halfway stage before pulling the result back to 3-3 after 90 minutes.

An only goal by Lee Hartley was insufficient for Beamish who lost 3-1 to East Durham and Redheugh also bowed out of the competition when they lost 5-2 to Darlington All Stars. Martin Taylor and Chris Smith kept the Reds in with a chance up until the halfway stage when the score was 2-2 but Darlington proved the stronger team in the second period. Adam Armstrong completed a hat-trick and other on target for Darlington were Michael Patterson and Ross Burton.

Cleveland Hall comfortably defeated Sunderland Stadium by 5-0 with strikes by Danny Storey (2), Jamie Candlish, Andrew Woodcock and Danny Huggin.

Low Fell also went through into the next round with a big 9-0 success at home to Bishop Auckland St Marys. Stephen Dover claimed a hat-trick, Mark Potts bagged a brace and others among the goals were James Young, Chris Spears, Alex Tait and Phil Taylor.

Swalwell lost 4-0 at Billingham Town where they conceded two goals in each half. Mark Lilley with a brace, Jamie Morton and Tom Hustes found the net for Billingham Town.

New County North Durham Youth League

Blaydon easily accounted for Blackfyne in the Under-16 division winning 6-1 when all the goals were scored in the second period. David Paylor rifled a hat-trick and others on target for Blaydon were Carl Reach, Mark Waugh and Shaun Lockey. Craig Milburn hit a consolation goal for Blackfyne.

The game between Leam Rangers and Wylam was another where the goals were scored during the second period. Michael Younger, David Dixon and Sebastian James found the net to earn Leam Rangers a 3-0 victory.

Birtley Town and Redheugh drew 2-2. Adam Monkhouse bagged a brace of goals for Birtley and so too did Chris Wilson for the Reds.

The biggest win in the division was recorded by Consett who scored five goals in each half to finish 10-0 in front of Rutherford. Daniel Stewart (4), Jamie Henderson (3), Philip Bennett (2) and Kieron McGarry all found the target for the Steelmen.

Consett were also successful in the Under-17 division defeating Felling 3-0 when Daniel Appleby bagged a brace of goals and Paul Leighton also scored.

Only one goal separated Blaydon and Montagu and Mark Knell struck to earn Blaydon the points.

Gary Andrews hit a hat-trick and Micky Robson also netted in Swalwell's narrow 4-3 success over Wear Valley for whom Stephen Carr, Ian Oliver and Mark Blackett replied.

Rohm and Haas JOC Hetton Youth League

Lumley maintained their 100 per cent record when they defeated Lambton Street 8-0, scoring five times during the second period.

The Cestrians were quickly ahead an further goals followed as the Lambton Street defence failed to cope with the lively visiting attack. Michael Collins (2), Simon Dolman (2), Chris Yates, Mark Younger, John Lidster and David Scott were all on target.

Ryhope have also won their four fixtures with their latest victory coming at Herrington, who conceded their unbeaten record. Following a goalless first half Mark Eggglestone and Anthony Armstrong earned Ryhope the points.

Lumley and Ryhope share the leadership and Jarrow St Bedes, also with a 100 per cent record, a third. They have a game in hand on both of their rivals.

Jarrow visited Washington Dunlop and took the lead through John Smith which they held until the halfway stage. In the second period the South Tyneside outfit proved to be the stronger and further goals flowed from Michael Gallagher with a brace and Andrew Farrell.

Sacriston gave a much improved performance despite losing for the fourth consecutive time. They took the lead through Scott Embleton at home to Hebburn, but in the second period the visitors scored three times and Sacriston's only response came from Greg Coates.

Riverside FC

Riverside under 8s excellent form continued when they won both of their weekend games. They beat Whitburn and Cleadon 1-0 thanks to a Ross Hughes first half goal and then went on to beat City of Durham 4-0 with the goals coming from Ross Hughes (2) Adam Heron and Craig Roberts. This makes it a five wins out of six for the Riverside.

The under 9s picked up four points drawing 0-0 with Fulwell and beating City of Durham 2-0 . Despite having Fulwell on the back foot for most of the game they couldn't find the breakthrough. In the second game, however, they got there just rewards as Ben Young was on target twice.

The under 10's won both their weekend games beating Hylton Castle 3-1 with goals form Martin (2) and Reach and East Durham 1-0 with the important goal coming from Gardner.

The under 12's were at home to South Moor in the County Cup. South Moor were quick to start and were 2-0 up within ten minutes. Riverside fought back and reduced the deficit thanks to a Nathan Redshaw penalty. In the second half Stephen Forster headed the equaliser but South Moor again took the lead. Two minutes from time Campbell Bell chipped the keeper from 15 yards putting the game into golden goal extra time. The tie was very even until Campbell Bell hit his second of the game to send Riverside into the next round.

The under 13's were at home to top of the table City of Durham who eventually ran out 3-1 winners. The Riverside goal was scored by Simon Godfrey.

Brompton

THE Under 17s entertained Coulby Newham in a cup tie that provided a 'goal feast' with the final score being 13-5 to Brompton. Brompton were two goals up inside the first four minutes with goals from Shardha and A.Thompson. Coulby did score five at regular intervals but Brompton never let the game go with goals from Stimson, Shardha, Tasker (2), McNichol, Anderson, two goals from substitute Craven and two further goals from Man of the Match Shardha.

Brompton U9s played their first mini soccer matches of the season away at Total Soccer Centre, Darlington. Brompton's very young players included a six year old and two seven year olds. While results went against them 5-0 and 5-2 the players were not downhearted. Goals came from James Pugh and George Austick.

Brompton U11s provided a nail biting encounter against Catterick AWS, who took a 2-0 lead. Brompton played well looking for the equaliser, which eventually came from Tom Bunn. In spite of some desperate attacking play by Josh Knox and Steven Mullen, Catterick held on to grab the honours 2-1.

Brompton U12s travelled to Barnard Castle in the Teesside JFA. After suffering defeat last week the team were able to bounce back with a resounding 9-1 victory. Goals by Alex Caisley (4) Josh Boyton (3) Luke Toman and Pete Chandler were the fruits of an excellent all round team performance.

Brompton U13s continued their fine start to the season in the Teesside JFA by beating Barnard Castle away 2-3 with two goals from Adam McDaid and a wonder-goal from Oliver Moss.

Finally Brompton U14s entertained Tees Valley Juniors in the Teesside JFA. Stefan Pearson opened the scoring after eight minutes with a close range shot. Lukas Sutton extended this lead with a 25 metre effort. From the restart Brompton won possession and Suttons cross provided Pearson with his second goal. Pearson completed his hat trick on 30 minutes after a defence splitting pass by Danny Thornborough. Brompton started the second half well with Pearson adding two further goals to bring his personal tally to five goals. Substitute John Henry scored within a minute of coming into play and in the 50th minute James Robson playing in his first full game scored with a deflected cross to complete the scoring and a scoreline of 8-0.

The Under 10s took on Catterick AWS in what was a very competitve mornings football between these two evenly matched sides saw Brompton come out on top. Results were 3-2 to AWS & 0-3,0-1,0-1 to Brompton. Brompton played well against a determined Catterick side who won the first game 3-2 which swung around a penalty decision. Brompton were comfortable winners in the 0-3 result. The second matches were closer as Brompton managed to break down the Catterick defence winning both games by a single goal. Scorers for Brompton were David Lloyd(2),Martin Clark,Andrew Caisley,Ben Wilson, Patrick Hebbletwaite & Callum Brown.
