HARRY Singh, a long-standing member of Darlington Harriers, completed his 100th marathon in Nottingham on the Robin Hood Marathon last weekend.

Harry has been running marathons for a very long time. The 26.2 mile event was just a warm up for the Ultra distance events that he used to run; a Sunday stroll for the long campaigner.

He had his sights set on this event for some time and has regularly run two events in a week just to get the numbers up and amazingly has managed to keep his average time down to three hours and 40 minutes over the 100 races.

The Robin Hood was a perfect race to bring his ton up as it was over a flat course and on a perfect day for racing.

With lots of support out on the course Harry came home in a time of three hours 49 minutes and was overjoyed to have completed such a marvellous milestone.

All the members of Darlington Harriers congratulate him on his marvellous achievement and hope that he has many miles left in his legs.

Darlington Harriers are promoting the North Yorkshire South Durham cross country relays at Eastbourne Stadium on Sunday October 13th, which is the first event of the season.

The flat course is a good opener for the season and the competition will be fierce amongst all the local teams to take the top prizes.

Darlington Harriers train at Eastbourne Stadium on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 6.15 and anyone is welcome to come along and train at the best stadium in the area.

The Harriers are running their usual bus for the Great North Run and members past and present are welcome, but places are limited so ring John Brant on (01325) 257672 if you need a place.
