In the Premier champions Billingham Wanderers are favourites to retain the title easily disposing of present leaders Owton Manor by 6-0 at home.

Billingham's attacking forced Manor into making errors, misplaced passes, losing possession in midfield and hasty clearances, all contributed to undermining Manor's confident. Three goals down at the interval saw them struggling after the restart and they did hit the bar and had a shot clear off the line but never threatened the home side whose further three goals settled the issues.

In division one the two top teams, Newton Aycliffe and Blackhall Hardwick met in an even, hard fought game which ended goalless with both keepers being main participants. Newton Aycliffe remain leaders with Blackhall a point behind.

Langley Park Rams Head moved off bottom spot by winning 7-0 at home against Willow Pond. Rams Head were in fine form and quick passing put Pond off their usual style.

In division two Glaxo kept their unbeaten record by drawing 2-2 away to unbeaten leaders Hartlepool Catholic Club. Pool took the lead after 15 minutes when Lewis headed home a corner from Stan Henderson, but Glaxo levelled when Trevor Hodgson volleyed home a loose ball close on half time. The restart saw Glaxo getting on top when Gary Hutchinson hit a piledriver 20-yard free kick into the corner of the net. In the last quarter Pools pushed for the equaliser and Glaxo defended desperately but were caught out two minutes from time when a mis-hit clearance was latched on to by Barry Waller who beat two opponents to put Stan Henderson through to score and make it 2-2.

Darlington Croft are in fourth spot and defeated Sedgefield 3-0 at home. Croft always had the edge although it was only after 25 minute they took the lead when Jamie Leife fastened on to a pass from David Harrison to go clear and lob the keeper. The restart saw Darlington's Mark Smith beat two men and power a shot home from 20 yards to make it 2-0. This issue was settled when Leife put Micky Nelson through to score and make it 3-0.

In division three West Cornforth won their second game in succession beating Darlington Railway 2-1 and moving mid table.

Billingham Town are unbeaten and share the lead with Wynyard Vets and Darsley Park, all three having 13 points. Billingham had a splendid away win over fourth placed Wingate who led at the break courtesy of a Terry Wright goal. The restart saw Billingham fight back and level after five minutes and then went 3-1 up before Wingate scored through Paw Dawson to make it 3-3. Wingate pushed but were caught out on the break when Billingham scored to make it 4-2. Wynyard Vets are leader on goal different, they went nap against Hartlepool RNC winning 5-0.

In division four Crook Town won 3-2 away to Halfway House. The first half belonged to Crook who led 2-0 at the interval. The restart saw Halfway House fight back with Micky Little beating two men before scoring from a 20-yard piledriver. John Morris then jinked his way past three defenders before finding the net

to level the scores at 2-2. The House now tried desperately for the winner, but Crook held firm and regained the lead through long ball clearance and the resultant breakaway which resulted in them scoring and snatching the game in the closing stages.
