PELTON FELL and Stanley FC both pulled off superb wins in the Durham Sunday Cup though it was harder going for league leaders Chester Garden Farm.

Reigning Champions Stanley travelled to Bishop Auckland Green Tree and despite having to field a weakened side, still manage to rattle up a crushing 10-3 win. There was another hat-trick for Mark Drake and Graham Kendal while two-goal Marc Urwin, Alan Todd and Martin Pritchard ensured Stanley's progress. Pelton Fell WMC were away to former league rivals Stanley Towneley Arms and in what were difficult circumstances, managed an excellent 2-0 win over the Consett Division One outfit.

It was scoreless at the end of the first half before the Fell went ahead through Richard Scoot. To make matters worse for the home side they had a player dismissed and were finished off when Michael Barton went on as a substitute and grabbed the crucial second.

The Farm were at home to Sunderland New Deomocratic and were eventually edged out by the odd goal in three in a match that could have gone either way.

In the league, Low Fell Jolly Miller were at home to Felling Mulberry and edged in front when they took the lead from the penalty spot. But this goal only served to give the Mulberry a wake up and they went on to run out 10-4 winners.

Jolly Miller's goals came from Mark Venus (2), Steven Crocker and Ian Pace. Mark Stevenson struck four times for the Mulberry there was two for Gary Harkness and others from Jay Pringle, Phil Davidson, secretary Andy Parkin and a screamer from Richard Davidson.

South Moor Sports hit the wining trail for the first time this season with a 5-0 win over Pelton Crown. Steven Green (2), Chris Youll (2) and Peter Blackburn ensured South Moor's season has at last started, though they still remain rock bottom.
