September Medal

Good weather was the order of the day for the final medal of the season and 145 golfers enjoyed a course in top condition. The best round of the day was played by Kevin Ward who with a gross 70 and a nett 69 was the clear winner with a standard for the day of 73.

Kevin Ward, Rob Jones and James Cameron qualify for the medal final to be played next Sunday.

Ladies. Medal Final

Gillian Petrie continued her successful golfing year by returning the best gross score of the day with a 75 against a standard scratch of 72, but her score only gave her second place in this acts competition.

Seniors

Two further rounds of the Friday morning Stablefords for the elderly have been played.

Stableford No 1: 38 points Trevor Robotham (23) 37 points Gareth Jones (18) 35 George Collett (22) 34 points Neil Exelby (21).

Dales Alliance

Two further rounds of the Autumn series have now been played in good weather at Blackwell Grange and Crook respectively.

Blackwell Grange: No change at the top of the overall table this week although Thirsk and Northallerton only managed fourth place in today's round, and are tied with Catterick Garrison with the same number of points.

Bedale finishing in sixth place have once again found themselves propping up the bottom of the table.

Crook: Probably the toughest course in this competition, the visit to Crook found Bedale taking the top place after their previous weeks poor performance and stopping Crook from enjoying home course advantage.

With three rounds to go at Catterick Garrison, Thirsk and Northallerton, and Bedale, the competition is reaching an exciting climax with Thirsk and Northallerton still holding top spot albeit by one point from Catterick Garrison and with home advantage for both Catterick Garrison and Thirsk and Northallerton coming up will Thirsk and Northallerton be able to clinch the title for the first time.
