THE six-year-old Highland stallion Carn Bhac of Langley, shown by Jody Fairclough and Stuart Roberts, was overall supreme champion at the North East Dartmoor and Exmoor Enthusiasts summer show at Richmond equestrian centre.

The pony had taken the large breeds in-hand championship and the Glyn Greenwood qualifier as well as being reserve overall in-hand champion.

The exhibitors also had the reserve large breeds champion with their other Highland pony Lavender of Langley, while Sandra Hardy's Tower Merlin took the youngstock ticket in the Glyn Greenwood qualifier.

The reserve supreme went to the open Mountain and Moorland working hunter champion Ladybrook Amaretti, ridden by Sammy Jo Grantham.

Emily Stead from Hipswell was on top form with Blazeby Allegro, bred by Pat Campbell, which was reserve M&M working hunter champion and had a hat-trick of wins in the sections.

The combination also took the novice working hunter championship.

Brian Williams showed Wendy Dunn's Dartmoor stallion Hisley Diplomat, which took the small breeds in-hand and the Dartmoor/Exmoor championship besides the overall in-hand tricolour.

Jan Moore from Redmire took reserve champion in the small breeds with Fengate Starburst, bred by the Dartmoor Pony Society secretary Viv Brown.

The overall Dartmoor/Exmoor champion was Gail Whetter's top Exmoor Subhainn, with reserve going to Laura Allingham and her Dartmoor pony Micklehill Aquarelle.

Hannah Atkinson took the NPS lead rein with Treowen Rhiannon and also won the young handlers championship.

Sophie Nixon rode Kim Money's Milford Fanfare to win the open ridden championship, while other wins were achieved by Sophie Staveley riding Barnell Adonis and Laura Gray on Hopelaws Woodpecker Too
