A pensioners' group has changed its name to emphasise its involvement in the community.

Growing Older and Living in Darlington, which was formerly named Growing Older in Darlington, has changed its name to reflect the role played by older people in making the town a better place to live. For details of the group call (01325) 482300.

FLORAL GIFT: Darlington Flower Club presented £1,250 to the Multiple Sclerosis Society at the club's Christmas show, held at Darlington Civic Theatre.

RACE NIGHT: Darlington Football Club supporters are staging a race night in aid of the benefit fund set up for former player Martin Gray. The event takes place on Thursday, November 14, at 7pm, in the Ambassador Suite at Feethams. Half the proceeds will go to the club's youth development scheme.
