A group calling themselves the Force have proved they are a force to be reckoned with in the dance world.
The 16 youngsters, aged from 11 to 15, travelled from their Northallerton homes to the Tower Ballroom in Blackpool to take part in the Disco Kid Superteam contest.
They won not only their under-16 category but went on to emerge as champions from a three-way dance-off to take the title of Superteam 2002.
The youngsters are members of Planetdance, in Northallerton, which was established four years ago by Toni-Louise Armstrong and Darren Carless. For the past six months they have been busy coaching the Force for their big moment.
