A community group in Sunderland is celebrating after becoming a registered charity.
Pennywell Community Association is now a charitable limited trust, run by a management committee of local residents, ward councillors, agencies and those that hold sessions at the centre.
The move allows the board of directors to make more day-to-day decisions about running the centre. Previously these would have been decided through the community association.
