AUSTRALIAN artist Dr Graeme Anthony, who recreates J R R Tolkien's fantasy characters in pewter and glass, will demonstrate how the pieces are made when he visits Market Cross Jewellers, in Linthorpe Road, Middlesbrough, tomorrow.

He has designed Royal Selangor's Lord of the Rings range of goblets and glasses. His latest sculpture, Gandalf's Rescue from Orthanc, has been produced in a limited edition of 500, selling for £499 each.

CLUB DEMOLITION: Oscar's nightclub in Stockton, which was badly damaged in a fire on Sunday night, is expected to be demolished today after structural engineers decided the building was too dangerous and would have to come down. The work will take three or four days and the road has been closed between Allison Street and Maxwell's corner. Traffic will be diverted via Allison Street and Bishopton Lane. The cause of the blaze is still being investigated by Cleveland Police arson investigation unit.

FESTIVE TREAT: Tickets are selling fast for Santa's Specials at Darlington Railway Centre and Museum. The events, on December 7, 8, 14 and 15, from 10am to 4pm, give youngsters the chance to visit Santa's grotto and ride a steam train. There will also be a farmers' market each day.
