A TEESSIDE council is celebrating after winning a place on the shortlist of the government's Beacon Status scheme.
Stockton Borough Council was shortlisted in the construction category.
The Beacon Status scheme aims to highlight council services which are well managed and run.
Councillor Bob Gibson, leader of the council, said: "This is very good news.
"To be shortlisted for a Beacon award is very satisfying, especially for our hard-working staff, and it is no less than they deserve."
