PLANS to install a 25m mobile phone mast are likely to be approved despite objections from residents.
Planners are recommending that Chester-le-Street District Council's planning and licensing committee meeting next Monday approve the proposals at the Pelaw Grange Greyhound Stadium, on the Drum Road Industrial Estate.
A report to the meeting notes 525 letter of objection, as well as a petition containing more than 200 signatures.
The main concerns revolve around health issues, specially to children attending the nearby Park View Comprehensive School.
Planners say there is a need for the mast which would be within safety guidelines.
