A LUCKY mother-of-two has won a £5,000 fitted kitchen thanks to The Northern Echo.
Alison Comett, from Darlington, won the kitchen courtesy of The Gallery in a competition last month as part of The Northern Echo's £10,000 Home Makeover promotion.
She collected six tokens from different copies of the paper and answered a question to win the competition.
She was delighted with her prize. She said: "I have never won anything like this before. I couldn't believe it."
Mrs Comett lives with husband John and children Louise, nine, and Michael, five.
She said: "We moved into this house four years ago and have not done anything to the kitchen so it could really do with a face-lift."
As well as the fitted kitchen, Mrs Comett will get a new oven, hob and extractor.
