Winger Neil Wainwright has set his sights on helping Darlington continue their recent run of form - and believes the play-offs are a realistic target.

Mick Tait's side extended their unbeaten run to five games after Saturday's win at Hull and another three points on Saturday against Macclesfield could see them climb into the top half of the table for the first time since August.

Former Sunderland man Wainwright thinks the play-offs are not out of the question following Quakers' resurgence under caretaker boss Tait.

"We've only lost once in our last nine games so I think the play-offs have to be our aim now," said Wainwright.

"The way we're playing and working at the moment I don't think the play-offs are beyond us. We're going into every game with confidence."

Wainwright has played his part in the club's recent revival, which has seen Quakers pull well clear of the relegation pack.

The 25-year-old is the latest player to throw his support behind Tait's bid to take over the managerial reins on a permanent basis.

And he revealed the whole team is pleased to see Tait doing such a good job.

"The difference Mick's made has been unbelievable and we're all delighted to see him doing well," said Wainwright.

"Obviously it's not up to the players whether he gets the job or not but we're all behind him."

Quakers have been forced to reschedule two of their Third Division games in the New Year.

The trip to Swansea on Saturday, January 4, has been put back to Tuesday, February 18, because it clashes with the FA Cup third-round tie with Farnborough.

The game at Wrexham, scheduled for Saturday, February 22, has been put back a day due to a rugby fixture taking place at the Racecourse Ground.

* Last night's reserve game with Boston at Feethams was postponed because of a frozen pitch.
