Arkengarthdale Parish Council
Parking difficulties: A muddy verge near the school had caused problems for parents dropping off or collecting their children, resulting in them and the children having to stand in the road. Councillors agreed to notify the dangers to the Highways Authority. It was suggested that money left over from the High Green Footpath Fund be used towards improvements near the school.
Telephone problems: It was reported that there were problems using telephones at the top of the dale. The lack of satisfactory mobile phone coverage in an area where it could mean the difference between life and death was also regretted.
Improved paths: It was hoped that the footpath between the church and the CB Inn will be cleared of vegetation soon and that passing places could be created on the road near Whaw Wood.
Tree donation: George Birks has provided the Christmas tree for High Green. The children's Christmas party will be organised by Jane Stokes and Alison Stubbs.
Meeting date: The next meeting will be on January 20.
