A 22-YEAR-OLD man was taken to Sunderland Royal Hospital with minor injuries after he was hit with a glass during a disturbance at the Motirag Tandoori restaurant, in Church Lane, Sunderland, at about 11.30pm on Tuesday.
His attacker was white, in his mid-30s, with mousey brown hair and wearing a white, striped shirt. It is thought he was with six other people. Witnesses are asked to call 0191-454 7555, ext 66659.
BUS THEFT: Police are appealing for witnesses after a bus driver was robbed of his takings. The incident happened at 3.15pm on Tuesday, when a youth in his late-teens and wearing a light baseball cap and cream tracksuit top, boarded the bus and paid his fare. When it stopped in Beaumont Street, Sunderland, he reached into the cab and made off with a canvas money bag. Witnesses are asked to call 0191-454 7555, ext 66659.
COMPETITION WINNERS: Anne and Thomas Burns, of Moore Street, Wheatley Hill, received £100 after being named winners of the Wheatley Hill Christmas lights competition. In second place were Gary and Elaine Mason, also of Moore Street, who won £75; and in third place, winning £50, were John and Laura Dixon-Hitch.
