FORMER British Lion John Bentley visited Darlington Rugby Club last week to give a coaching session to the club's under-15s.
The 36-year-old winger currently plays and is director of rugby for Darlington's Powergen North One rivals Cleckheaton. He gave the youngsters an excellent session filled with passion and enthusiasm.
He said: "I just wouldn't do it if the passion wasn't there. What message would it give to these lads if I turned up and didn't show them my passion for the sport."
Capped four times for England after he moved from Rugby League's Halifax Blue Sox, Bentley was one of the Tetley League's leading try-scorers in 1996 with 21 tries.
He also had a successful period with Newcastle Falcons and is now in a management role at Leeds Tykes
