A MAN was found guilty last night of the murder of a father-of-six.
Mark Anthony Richardson, 39, was at home in Stockton looking after some of his children on April 21 when a local teenager burst in trying to escape from two men.
Mr Richardson went outside and was stabbed to death. His wife Carol, returned home to Raleigh Road on the town's Norton Grange Estate and found him on the pavement bleeding to death.
William Lowe, prosecuting, told Teesside Crown Court: "He was just unlucky. He was in the wrong place at the wrong time."
David Worton, 42, of St Mary's Close, Stockton, was found guilty of murder and also of wounding Christopher Bousfield, 17, with intent to do grievous bodily harm.
Worton will be sentenced later. The jury, who have been hearing the case since December 2, were sent home for the night after they were unable to reach a verdict on his brother, John Worton, 43, of Brus House, Thornaby, who denies murder.
The case continues today.
