NEXUS has announced the festive operating schedule for the Tyne and Wear Metro, the Shields Ferry and additional bus services it operates.
On Christmas Eve, a normal Metro service will run up to 6pm, and then hourly to all destinations until 11pm.
There will be no Metro on Christmas Day, but a 30-minute service will run on Boxing Day from 10.30am to 5.30pm.
On New Year's Eve a normal service will operate all day, with free travel on the Metro from 10.30pm until the last train, at about 1.45am.
The Shields Ferry will operate a normal timetable until 8pm on Christmas Eve, no service on Christmas Day and a Sunday Service on Boxing Day. It will then operate as normal until 8pm on New Year's Eve and no service on New Year's Day.
Bus services run normally on both Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve, with a limited service on Christmas Day and Boxing Day. There will be no service on New Year's Day.
