Lingdale Tavern 5 v 3 North Skelton Bulls Head

Both teams started well with Lingdale, after a three week lay off, opening the scoring when Wright met a Downing corner to head home. Breckon made it two. Bulls Head battled well and won a penalty when Wright was adjudged to have handled the ball in the box. Bailes buried the spot kick into the back of the net. For the rest of the half Bulls Head held firm at the back with Vickers and Bailes keeping the Lingdale forwards at bay. In the second half Bulls Head were fastest out of the blocks and levelled the score with a good build up from the back, Bailes slipping the ball through for Stiff to score from the edge of the box. Lingdale went ahead again when Breckon took advantage of a loose ball and scored through a crowded box. Another good build up by Bulls head got them the equaliser when Bailes turned well to hit a 25 yard drive into the top corner. The game remained level until the 85th minute when Breckon completed his hat trick. Calvert ensured Lingdale's place in the last 16 with a well taken goal in the last minute.

Gt Ayton 5 v 2 Goldsborough

Goldsborough took the lead on 35 minutes when Stewart netted the only goal of the first half. Later on substitute Lane, in a central midfield role, found himself picking up a loose ball, after a cross from Busby, to score with a fierce drive into the roof of the net to level the score. A good supply of crosses from Busby, Ayton took the lead when Murray received the ball to turn well and shoot past keeper, Sanderson. A spate of goals was to follow as the Goldsborough defence crumbled, allowing Lane and Murray to score again. Ripley scored and Duell completed the win.

Highland Laddie 1 v 2 Staithes

A Staithes corner in the 50th minute saw the Laddie keeper being adjudged to have fouled Smith, the resulting penalty was duly converted by Beddingfield. But with five minutes remaining, after a goalmouth scramble, Taylor slotted home the equaliser. Seconds later Holmes scuffed a shot and then Taylor blasted the loose ball wide taking the game into extra time. The first session again saw Laddie pressing and after a push on Taylor in the box Brown took the penalty but blasted it over the bar. The second session was more in Staithes favour and an excellent strike by Smith gave them the lead, which they held to the end.

Annandale Hotel 2 v 4 Anchor Inn

Annandale entertained Anchor on a heavy pitch, making it difficult for both sides to ply good football. Bowmaker fired the home side into an early lead and then a fine attacking move saw Booth make it 2-0 on the half hour. Anchor began to attack the Annandale goal but with veteran, Smith, acting as emergency keeper they were kept at bay until just before half time when a rebounded shot was tapped home by Strike. In the second half Anchor equalised when Stevenson scored direct from a free kick and then took the lead through Bearpark. The game was played end to end, Booth going close for Annandale. Anchor made sure of victory however after they snatched a fourth following a rare mix up in the Annandale defence.

Grosmont 2 v 7 Loftus Ath

The first half saw Loftus on top throughout. A good headed goal from inside the box by Midgley gave them the lead and continued pressure led to a second from Midgely after a goalmouth scramble, giving Loftus a cushion at the break. Grosmont came into the second half in fighting form and brought the score to 2 - 2 with well taken goals from Jobling and Easby but that was as good as it got, Loftus woke up and netted one goal after another in the last 20 minutes. Wilson and Carter each finding the target and Deveraux and Man of the match Whitaker netting twice to take Loftus comfortably through.,

Lealholm 4 v 1 Hinderwell

Hinderwell with just ten men were forced to play defensively and tried to play to the off side rule, keeping the match even for a while before Lealholm beat the trap twice in two minutes, first Harland was through and dummied the keeper then a move down the right saw Brown shoot, although the keeper got a hand to the ball, it crept into the net. The match settled down in the latter part of the first half but Lealholm increased the lead with a shot through the keepers legs from Dowson. Hinderwell began the second half on top but a break down the right led to Harland beating the keeper to extend Lealhol's lead. With just 4 minutes remaining A goalmouth scramble led to a consolation goal for Hinderwell when Brown found the net.
