AN INSURANCE firm says its new North-East call centre will create 400 jobs over the next five years.
The Budget Group has opened the centre at Vantage House, on the Sunderland Enterprise Park, and plans to fill 150 of the jobs as soon as it can.
The first 60 staff have been recruited and will start work in the next few days.
The jobs are mainly in administration and sales.
Budget chief executive Peter Winslow said the centre was a "very exciting development for Budget and Sunderland alike".
Junction, a Budget Group business, provides home and motor insurance for Yorkshire Bank, Clydesdale Bank and Northern Bank customers.
