THE parents of a Darlington man killed abroad were travelling to Spain last night to bring his body home.

Philip Johnson, 31, a logistics analyst, died on Wednesday when his car was in a head-on collision with another vehicle just outside Barcelona.

The driver of the other car, a 45-year-old local woman, was also killed.

His parents, of Briar Walk, Darlington, have not been able to find out the cause of the accident.

Mr Johnson's uncle, Ray Newel, said: "They have not been able to find out much. The language barrier is causing a bit of a problem.

"They are going to Spain to try to piece together what has happened and to organise getting his body home.

"We do not know how long that is going to take."

Mr Johnson had been living abroad for ten years.
