Tonoco, who looks a different horse after a wind operation, can continue the excellent season of Sue and Harvey Smith's and looks the value bet in the skybet.com Great Yorkshire Chase over three miles at Doncaster.

This previously decent hurdler and novice chaser lost his way completely after a very disappointing 2001/02 campaign in which he wasn't sighted in three outings over fences.

However, since being tubed, he's returned to form and was really impressive when beating Raffles Rooster when upped to three miles for the first time at Haydock last month.

Although he's racing from a much higher mark this time and faces a stiffer test, he was rated much higher than this in his early days over both hurdles and fences and, as such, still looks on a fair mark.

As stamina looks his strong suit, this normally sound jumper should be seen to good effect in this competitive race and, as he goes on most ground, any further drying of the course won't be a problem.

Of the main dangers Barryscourt Lad, one of the best hunter-chasers of last year, is an obvious one after his last-fence fall at Cheltenham in a novice handicap last time.

However, even before that fall he was nowhere near foot perfect at several of his fences and although he's handicapped to go close and is sure to have been well schooled since, represents little value at current odds.

Jonjo O'Neill's dual novice winner Bold Investor adds a touch of class to proceedings.

Three miles on good ground will be ideal but, although anything but disgraced in Grade 1 company last time at Kempton, it's a big ask for him to win a race like this.
