THE identity of a man whose body was pulled out of the Tees is expected to be released today.
A woman walking her dog along the river near Low Coniscliffe, on the outskirts of Darlington, made the discovery on Sunday morning.
Police are trying to establish how the man, believed to be in his late 40s or early 50s, came to be in the river.
He is thought to have been drinking, but it is unclear whether the influence of alcohol led to him falling into the water.
The man was taken to Darlington Memorial Hospital, where a post-mortem examination was due to be carried out yesterday.
Detectives said there were no suspicious circumstances.
