MOTORISTS in Tyneside will face shorter delays after Newcastle and Gateshead councils agreed to co-ordinate major roadworks.
Traffic will be down to one lane on the A167 from the Gateshead side of the Tyne Bridge through to its junction with the Jesmond Central Motorway, while work is carried out at each end this month.
A spokesman said the move meant delays would last a month rather than six weeks.
