YOUNGSTERS are being urged to embrace environmental issues to win a trip worth £40,000.
North-East schools are preparing entries for the Barclaycard LivingLand Awards 2003.
The awards, now in their second year, are run in conjunction with the Young People's Trust for the Environment (YPTE) and encourage classes to enter innovative environmental projects in a range of categories.
The five best entries will be shortlisted for the £40,000 prize, with the finals held at Whipsnade Wild Animal Park, Bedfordshire, in April.
Five additional entries from each category will receive £250 for their school.
