PUPILS savoured a taste of the Orient as part of Chinese New Year celebrations this week.
Raventhorpe Preparatory School in Darlington, dedicated the whole of Monday to the theme, with 12 nursery pupils enjoying the extra education topic.
Teachers decided to expand on the children's food topic to incorporate the Chinese New Year into their work.
The day began with the children dressing up in Chinese costumes donated by a parent who recently took a trip to the Far East.
Activities then moved on to making traditional Chinese stir fry dishes and looking at artefacts.
