AN eco-friendly holiday village remains a possibility after planners decided to postpone a decision until they are able to study a late rush of letters supporting the scheme.
Eco-Build, of Richmond, North Yorkshire, has proposed building 18 log chalets on the western edge of the town. The plans were earmarked for refusal in a report, which suggested they would ruin an unspoiled habitat for wildlife.
However, after partner Matthew Spence addressed business leaders at a reception in the Town Hall last week, Richmondshire District Council received a fresh flood of correspondence, prompting the planning committee to call for an adjournment.
Councillor Richard Dunn said an extra month would also give people a chance to visit the site.
Planning officer Peter Featherstone, who wrote the report recommending the project should be rejected, also agreed a deferral would enable his team to give the recent representations detailed consideration.
A new report will be filed before the council's environment committee meets next month.
