A football team has its own strip for the first time thanks to a talented young designer.
Ten-year-old Samantha Kivi entered a national competition to design a strip for her school team and won the top prize with her orange-and-blue kit.
But rather than hand the kit to the boys at Berwick Hills Primary School, in Middlesbrough, Samantha insisted it went to the girls' squad.
Headteacher Jim King said: "I think it is absolutely tremendous that a little girl has been successful in a competition which had a huge number of entries - and that people in the North-East voted for her design.
"We are delighted with her choice. I have been here for eight years and the girls have improved year on year in football.
"We did have a problem sharing one strip between both boys and girls.''
However, the boys' team has not missed out - the school recently bought them a burgundy-and-blue strip.
