PEOPLE living in the borough of Stockton are being urged to make sure they do not lose their right to vote in local elections in May.
Stockton Borough Council has written to 10,000 people who failed to fill in the electoral register in October, urging them to add their names by March 11.
The council is taking part in a pilot project with all-postal voting. Voters on the register will receive their ballot papers on Sunday, April 13.
Names will be added to the register up to April 1, but voters must have been notified the council by March 13.
In addition, anyone who has moved house since completing the form in October can have their new address registered if they contact the council by April 8.
To add your name to the register or to notify the council of a change of address, call (01642) 393081.
