A DOG owner has scoured her village and surrounding area after losing her pet.
Glenna Murray, from Hamsterley, is devastated after her blue Great Dane puppy escaped from the family car on Sunday afternoon.
Mrs Murray had just bought the puppy from Lincolnshire and was looking forward to making her part of the family.
But as she opened the car door the five-month-old puppy, which answers to the name Baby, ran off.
Mrs Murray said: "I feel so stupid. I only bought her yesterday.
"I have not slept all night and I am so worried about her.
"She is in a strange area and it has been cold. She is not used to people.
"She is a beautiful dog and I don't think anyone will realise how special she is.
"I will do anything to get her back and I am even prepared to offer a substantial reward.''
Anyone who things they might know the whereabouts of the puppy is asked to contact Mrs Murray on (01388) 710587.
