POLICE are warning residents to be on their guard after a man tried to force his way into two pensioners' homes on the same street.
A man in his eighties had to push the caller from his front door, in Nunthorpe, Teesside, after he tried to get in, claiming to have a message for him.
An 89-year-old woman refused to open the door and phoned police when a man aged 35 to 40, knocked on her door just after 9pm on Sunday.
Both residents were upset and shaken. Police are asking for anyone with information to call them on (01642) 302626.
