POLICE are hunting a pervert who exposed himself at a ten-year-old boy as he made his way to school in Durham Road, Stanley, County Durham, at about 8.40am on Tuesday, February 4.

He is described as white, in his 30s, tall, of thin build, with dark, short hair and facial stubble. He was wearing a black, knee-length jacket. Anyone with information is asked to call police on (01207) 280613.

GIRL FOLLOWED: Police are investigating after a girl complained that a man, aged 50 to 55, followed her home from school in the Hollyhill Gardens area of Stanley, County Durham. The man was described as white, 5ft 8in, of stocky build, with a wrinkly face, and spoke with a local accent. He was wearing a brown hat that covered his ears and had a small, brown, terrier-type dog with him. Anyone with information is asked to call police on (01207) 232144.

WOMAN MUGGED: A mother-of-two, 28, was attacked by a robber as she walked home along a dark alley connecting Cranfield Place and Walker Drive, in Acomb, York. The attacker was a white male, in his late 20s, 5ft 11in tall and stocky. He spoke with a local accent.

PENSIONER ROBBED: A 76-year-old woman suffered a cut head when her handbag was snatched in Spires Lane, Newcastle, at 11.20pm on Sunday. Her attacker was described as 16 or 17, 5ft 6in, with blond hair, and wearing a light-coloured jacket, dark trousers and trainers.

MAN DEAD: A 25-year-old Stanley man died after falling and hitting his head, police said yesterday. The unnamed man was taken to the University Hospital of Durham on Friday. He did not regain consciousness. There were no suspicious circumstances.

ROUAL VISIT: The Princess Royal will meet pupils from all 30 schools in Hartlepool tomorrow, marking the fact it is the first local authority to achieve the Basic Skills Agency's Quality Mark for all primary schools.
