AN exhibition showcasing work by international glass artists has gone on display in the region.
Queen's Museum of Art, in New York, the Crafts Council, and the National Glass Centre, in Sunderland, have joined forces to present Heart of Glass, at the glass centre until May 18.
The exhibition features work by international artists including Jean-Michel Othoniel, Not Vital, Tony Oursler and Robin Winters.
It explores the themes of nature, science, mythology and history, and includes Snowballs, The Empty Cabinet and Red Sun with Black Heart, comprising 59 blown glass objects.
The exhibition is curated by Valerie Smith, of the Queen's Museum of Art, which formerly hosted the show.
