TWO avid readers of The Northern Echo have celebrated their golden wedding.
Richard, 71, and Ivy Ross, 72, met at a dance in Filey, North Yorkshire, where Mr Ross is from.
They married at St Paul's Church, in Haswell, County Durham, and after Mr Ross returned from serving with the Army in Kenya, settled in the village of Haswell Plough.
The couple, who have a son, daughter and granddaughter, revealed they have read The Northern Echo every day since they wed. Mrs Ross said: "When we go on holiday to Filey or Scarborough, we still buy it."
