RESIDENTS of Middlesbrough have been using virtual reality software to see what their neighbourhood could look like.
Middlesbrough Council is consdering naming the Gresham area a Home Zone - which could bring improvements to the quality of life.
Thanks to Teesside University's Virtual Reality Centre, residents were given the opportunity to walk along a virtual road at the weekend and experience how their street could look and even feel.
The university has produced a 3D model of the area which will help people visualise various street layouts and see how improvements could be made to the area.
The model was being displayed at Ayresome Community Centre at the weekend.
Gresham councillor Ken Walker said: "The whole concept of the Home Zone programme is to create streets that belong to the people who live there. Each street will be different.
"We need residents to share their ideas with us. We will gladly listen."
