TWO police officers assigned to patrol a Stockton estate have shown residents they mean business by making arrests within days of their posting.
PCs Andrea Robinson and Alan Fish have become familiar faces in the Parkfield area and have won the confidence of many families living there.
The officers have already received information on drugs activity.
Just a week into their jobs, they had enough evidence to secure three search warrants, which resulted in two arrests for possession of drugs.
PC Robinson said: "We are still getting ourselves known but the response of the people has been great.
"We are the first dedicated beat officers on the estate and people are keen to help us target and disrupt those causing problems."
PC Fish said: "We are out and about on foot as well as mobile and we are not only speaking to local residents but also the business community there.
"All the responses we have had have been positive.
"We attend all the residents' meetings and the information is beginning to flow.
"All we want is to make the area a better place for the law-abiding majority."
The officers have a two-year posting to Parkfield.
