A MAN and two teenagers are due to appear in court today facing allegations that they conned their way into the home of a blind widow.
The trio were arrested following an incident on Tuesday, in which an 87-year-old woman had £300 stolen from her home by men claiming to be council workmen.
Durham Police's recently formed bogus official unit made the arrests after the incident in Washington Village, in the neighbouring Tyne and Wear force area.
All three of those arrested, a 41-year-old man and male teenagers, aged 18 and 17, all from Hebburn, South Tyneside, were detained at Durham City police station.
They will appear before Peterlee magistrates today, facing a single charge each stemming from the alleged incident on Tuesday.
