A YORKSHIRE terrier due to have an operation to improve his eyesight needs a home.
Seven-year-old Benji will travel to Bristol next week to have cataracts removed from his eyes.
He is being looked after by the National Canine Defence League (NCDL), in Darlington, and the charity is paying for the operation.
Catherine Gillie, the manager of NCDL Darlington, said: "Benji is a loving and caring dog and is one of the most vocal and lively at NCDL Darlington.
"He does not like being groomed and tends to jump a little when you handle him but this is probably due to his eyesight.
"He does like lots of attention but gives back as much love as he receives."
Benji would suit a family that has already owned a dog and with older children.
Anyone wanting to rehome Benji is asked to call the NCDL, on (01325) 333114.
