A POPULAR tourist attraction in a market town has gone online to reach customers around the world.
The Thirsk museum, The World of James Herriot, has opened an online mail order shop, offering many items from books and stationery to clothing, china and sweets.
Within hours of the shop opening three teapots had been ordered by customers in Canada and Germany.
"We sell a vast array of goods online but so far the books, videos and teapots are proving the most popular," said centre manager Sue Dalton.
"The shop has been opened because our visitors told us they wanted it. And a huge number of people call us wanting to get hold of Herriot memorabilia but are unable to get to Thirsk."
The shop can be visited at www.jamesherrriot.org.uk
