COUPLES enjoying a Valentine Day's dinner at a North-East pub tonight will be able to tie the romantic knot ... Thai-style.

Landlady Linda McGinnety will be sharing her love of orchids with her customers after she and her husband, John, brought back a box full of the exotic flowers from the Far East.

Couples having a candle-lit meal in the fully-booked dining area at the Black Bull, Wolsingham, County Durham, will be presented with a complimentary orchid.

Linda and John, who are frequent visitors to Thailand, hit on the idea of giving their customers a Valentine Day's treat during their latest holiday there.

"The country is a paradise for the flowers and we always bring one or two orchids home," said Linda.

"This time we thought we would share our love of the exotic with our customers, so we brought back a boxload."

The delicate blooms will replace the traditional red roses as a romantic centrepiece on the dining tables at the Black Bull.
