Chester-le-Street Town; Chester Juniors have won through to their third successive League Cup Final.

The young Cestrians will be hoping to be League Cup winners for the third year in a row, when they take part in the Fairs Software League final at Prudhoe Town FC on May 5.

Chester, who are also league leaders, booked their place in the final with a hard fought 3-2 victory at New Hartley on Saturday.

The blue and whites were a goal down after only a minute, but equalised on the stroke of half time through in-form striker Paul McDonald. Within a minute of the re-start Andrew Smith put Chester in front, and Mark Adamson sealed the victory when he raced on to a fine ball from man of the match Michael Renshaw. New Hartley gained a consolation with five minutes to play but Chester, were never in real danger.

Richmond Town

Oagain the weather conditions played havoc with the weekend's schedule with only three matches surviving, writes BEN PROSSER.

Richmond Under-12s continued their winning ways with a sixth win out of six in the league by winning away to Bedale 4-0. After absorbing some early pressure from Bedale and two fine saves from A Cunningham, Richmond gradually gained the initiative with a half time score of 1-0 thanks to a B Whiteside goal. In the second half Richmond upped the level of their play scoring a further three goals through C Swainston (2) and a second Whiteside strike.

The Under-13s had another goalscoring bonanza winning at home to Nunthorpe YC 10-1. Another excellent first half performance saw Richmond race to a 5-0 half time lead despite missing numerous chances. The second half was rather scrappy after both sides made substitutions. Scorers were S Pritchard (6), T Borthwick(2) and one a piece for T Stanwix and A Hillary.

The Under-9s were at home to Catterick Village losing both games 4-0. In a hard first match there were gutsy performances from the whole team handling the hard tackling of Catterick well. In the second match the team kept level with Catterick for most of the first half but then Catterick scored. In the second half Richmond kept up the hard work and the scoreline does not reflect the effort they put in. Man of the match was Tim Holmes.

Last weekend is that the Under-12s won 3-0 at home to Darlington Albion.
