Archdeacon 0 v 8 Killinghall Arms

With their closest rivals on cup duty Killie took the opportunity to move eight points clear at the top. Killie after a slow start were fortunate not to find themselves a good down but nerves were settled when Andy Roberts opened the scoring and the same players nap hand was complemented with further goods from Danny Hannifin, Danny Fleary and sub Scott Armstrong. The pick of a valiant Archdeacon team was veteran Les Thompson while Paul Walker was Killie's star player.

East End WMC 4 v 3 Shuttle & Loom

Manager Darren Robinson was East End's hero as inspired substitutions saw Aaron Radstock level the scores and then entering the fray for the first time this season Robinson showed his team mates hot it should be done by notching the winner. Earlier Robert Wake and Paul Horsley had found the net only for shuttle and Loom to peg them back with goals from Warren Moncur, Peter Wilkinson and Chris Airey. Terry Greenstreet was again Shuttle's man of the match.

Hole In The Wall 2 v 4 DSRM SC Res

With several new singings on display Rolly's gained a well deserved first victory of the season. Taking advantage of Wall's lethargy they led after 35 minutes via a penalty from John Neilson but were pegged back when Stuart Ford sneaked in at the back post to convert a low cross on 55 minutes.

Rolly's were then awarded a second penalty with 15 minutes left which was saved by Wall's man of the match Paul De St Croix but unfortunately for him Neilson followed up to put away the rebound. Wall went all out for an equaliser but were caught on the break and Liam Coleman increased the lead with a superb long range effort. Injury time saw Wall convert the third penalty of the game sub Andrew Mackintosh keeping his cool but Rolly's broke away in the final minute and Andrew Shaw completed the scoring finishing off an excellent move. Matthew Smith was outstanding for Rolly's.

Newton Aycliffe 6 v 0 DGSOB

Old Boys trailed 1-0 at the interval but capitalised in the second half and Aycliffe ran out comfortable winners with goals from Scott Brassell (2), James Miller (2), David Brassall and sub Ian Swainston.

Durham Minor Cup second round

Hartlepool Pinnacle 2 v 3 Post Boy

Post Boy went ahead in the third minute when Darren Hewitson got on the end of a long throw to score,. Pinnacle levelled after 30 minutes but Post Boy restored their lead on the stroke of half time from the penalty spot.

Post Boy increased their advantage to two three minutes into the second half and then spent the next 40 minutes defending their goal which was only breached with five minutes remaining.

Wheatley Hill WMC 2 v 0 The Albion

In a war of attrition Albion were unable to carry their league form into this very competitive cup tie to leave Post Boy as the league's only representatives in the quarter final of the competition.

Darlington Church and Friendly League

After last week's washout the League managed to get some fixtures played with a couple being very tight and well contested. Two sides hoping to be involved for top spot Darlington The Mowden and Stillington The Royal had a tough encounter with the only goal coming in the first half, Mowden keeper failed to hold a cross and Wayne Muldowney of Royal was first to react to slot home, most of the play centred around the middle of the park with both keepers having very little to do.

At Chilton the homeside Wheatsheaf Wanderers and Bishopton Hoppers Transport fought out a 1-1 draw, with both sides having hit the woodwork on more than one occasion it wasn't until the 75th. minute that Hoppers broke the deadlock to go ahead, with Dave Tate having a good game in midfield it was his pass through for Carl Allen to hit a well deserved equaliser for Wheatsheaf after Hoppers keeper had made some telling saves.

The Darlington GSOB and Hurworth Otter & Fish fixture was abandoned just after half-time due to an injury to the referee.

Darlington Skerne Park were once again let down by a number of their members when only nine turned up for their visited to Shildon Elm Road WMC, as expected they suffered a heavy defeat but the boys who did turn out are to be congratulated for the effort they put in. Craig Dawson and Daryl Meadows both hit four goals, three others hit a brace Thomas Louden,Richard Nash and Carl Dawson,

One apiece went to Stuart Hall, Daniel Plewa and Ian Wicken.

On a happier note, congratulations go to Darlington RA Youth and Aycliffe Saints who went through to the last eight of the Durham Minor Cup. RA Youth went through after they defeated another of the League's club's, Darlington Travellers Rest, 3-1, Dean Lawson, Darren Kokes and Carl Moss being their scorers, it was not so easy for Saints when they visited Hartlepool Chester Hotel as they went into extra time, with the sides still locked at 0-0 they then went to a penalty shoot out which they won 3-1, Michael Cave, Kyle Hancock and Ben Hall converting.

Division One

BEADS FC 1 v 2 Acklam SW

This local derby saw the home side well on top for the first half, their efforts finally paid off in the 22nd minute when a Gary South cross was mishandled by the Acklam keeper and landed in the net. In the second half Acklam came out a lot stronger and drew level when a mistake by the BEADS defence allowed Paul Jewitt to score. Another mistake by the defence allowed former BEADS player Dean Talukder to score his 12th of the season, Acklam were then awarded a penalty but Darren Sankey had his kick saved by keeper Archie Moore, but the visitors secured the double over their local rivals.

Grangetown BC 4 v 0 Bedale FC

Current League Champions Grangetown Boys Club are one of four teams that are separated by six points following a couple of significant results on Saturday. Ian Williams gave the Boys Club a 16th minute lead and he made it 2-0 12 minutes later. In the second half the match was even until the 66th minute when Paul Cochrane made it 3-0 and with ten minutes remaining Ian McGowan secured the points.

Nunthorpe Ath 2 v 1 Thornaby FC

Another side to make a significant step in the title race were Nunthorpe Athletic who took a fifth minute lead when Thornaby keeper Anthony Price parried a cross, but it fell to Craig Winter who headed home. The home side were well on top but Darren Miller made it 1-1 when left in space and had a free header. In the second half the home side pressed and their efforts were rewarded when Lee Doherty scored.

Division Two

Darlington RA 1 v 4 Billingham Wndrs

Darlington RA Reserves took the lead but five minutes into the second half the visitors were on level terms when Lee Thompson scored. The Darlington side's heads went down when John Cairns gave the visitors a 2-1 lead, and worse was to follow when Adrian Serrechia made it 3-1 before the visitors broke in the 78th minute and Lee Mitchell sealed the victory.

R T Raine Trophy preliminary round

New Marske SC 2 v 1 Whitby T. Res

New Marske Sports Club progressed to the first round after a hard fought win, the reward being a home tie against Stokesley. The visitors took the lead after 40 minutes of an end-to-end evenly matched game, Richard Bowden on target. With an hour on the watch Gary Bickerstaff made it 1-1 when he fired home from 35 yards, before Ian Young headed home in the 70th minute.

SMG R'stripes 3 v 3 Richmond T. - aet. Richmond won 4-2 on penalties

Paul Brown got SMG Redstripes off to a great start when Paul Brown with his first of the season, but Tom Ptak made it 1-1 before the Billingham side took a 2-1 half time through Martin Gingell scored his third of the season. On the hour mark the match was evenly poised when a bad back pass by Steven Hunter allowed Adam Emson in to make it 2-2. The hosts took the lead for the third time when Hunter unleashed a 35-yarder into the top corner in the 80th minute, but Richmond again drew level with two minutes remaining when Emson scored to send the game into extra time. In the 30 minutes of extra time no goals were forthcoming and the match went into a penalty kick out which Richmond won 4-2 and will play another second division side Darlington RA Reserves in the first round next week.

A Burness Plate first round

Darlington CB 1, Whinney Banks 3

Darlington Cleveland Bridge shocked the visitors in this Second Division Burness Plate competition by taking a second minute lead through Lee Hammond, Arran Ward made it 1-1 in the 25th minute and Nathan Jameson then gave Whinney Banks a 2-1 lead and increased it to 3-1 five minutes before half-time. In the second half the match swung end-to-end the only surprising thing was that no one added to the scoreline. Whinney Banks will play Teesside Link or Teesside Arriva in the semis.

Auckland Charity Cup

Brandon Station 4 v 2 D'ton SRM - aet

Darlington Simpson Rolling Mills took a 2-0 lead when visiting Brandon Station in this competition, the winners will face Darlington CB in the next round. Paul Thorns gave SRM a 12th minute lead from the penalty spot, and Lee Sinclair doubled the lead to make it 2-0 in the 25th minute. Brandon Station fought back and pulled it back to 2-2 in the seconds half and went on to win the match 4-2 after extra time.
