With Ferryhill Eldon Arms dropping out earlier in the season the league leaders, Spennymoor Voltigeur have to sit out the final two weeks of the season hoping they have a big enough to grab the title. They couldn't have had a better start with wins from Dean Mains, Tony Biddle, Darren Briggs, David Graham, Kelvin Anderson and two from Andy Mole giving them a 7-0 lead. Malcolm Cooper reduced the arrears before Darren Briggs and Dean Mains claimed their second wins to leave the score 9-1 after the singles. Keith Young and Malcolm Cooper won the first doubles for the Grand but David Graham and Dean Mains took the second for the Volti. Tony Biddle won the captains for the home side to give them an 11-2 victory.
