Police are appealing to the person who witnessed a car being damaged and then left a note on the damaged car's windscreen, to come forward.

A red Toyota estate was damaged at about 8.30pm on Sunday in Westgate, Guisborough, near Safeway supermarket. The culprit was seen to get into another car and drive off. The witness did not leave contact details. Acting Sergeant Dave Chard can be contacted on (01642) 302626.

POLICE MEETING: A public meeting to discuss community safety issues will be held at the Grosmont Day Centre, on The Lakes estate, Redcar, on Tuesday, at 7pm. Police officers, councillors and community wardens will be present.

FLEA MARKET: Saltburn Community and Arts Association will hold a flea market and collectors' fair on Saturday, in the community centre, from 10am to 4pm. Admission is free.

NEW CLASSROOMS: Crooksbarn Primary School, in Petrel Crescent, Norton, has applied to Stockton Borough Council for permission to build three classrooms and a play area.

TOMBOLA SUCCESS: Pupils and parents at St Patrick's Comprehensive School, in Thornaby, raised £670 for the school when they held a tombola at the town's Asda store.

NEW APPOINTMENT: Julie Rudge has been elected to the team at Hartlepool's New Deal for Communities initiative.
