RUSSIAN BALLET: The Moscow Ballet, La Classique, will perform Don Quixote at 7.30pm on Sunday, March 9, in the Empire Theatre, Consett.

MIDWEEK WALK: A nine-mile Pennypie House and Blanchland Moor walk led by Michael Jones will start at 10.30am on Wednesday, from the main car park in Blanchland.

CEILIDH SPECIAL: The North Country Dance Band are staging a ceilidh night in the Lamplight Arts Centre, Stanley, on Friday, March 7, from 8pm. Tickets cost £5 and £4.

CREDIT UNION: East Derwentside Credit Union has set up a new collection point at Sure Start, in Stanley, from 10am to 11am. Other collection points are Craghead Village Hall, from 2pm to 4pm on Mondays; Bridge Enterprise Centre from 9.15am to 11am, also on Mondays and at 1a Statoin Road, from 10.30am to 2.30pm on Thursdays, and 10am to noon on Saturdays.

COMPUTER COURSE: A five-week beginners computer course will be held in Delves Lane Village Hall from 7pm to 9pm on Wednesdays, starting next week. The course costs £5.
