Police investigating a street robbery in Farm Close, Bishop Auckland, County Durham, on February 20, are appealing for a possible witness to contact them.

Following the attack at 1.30pm, in a which a 17-year-old man had £80 stolen, officers believe the money was used to purchase a grey Citroen AX, registration G105 VJR, and would like to hear from the owner of the vehicle. Anyone able to help has been asked to contact PC Warren Hawes, at Bishop Auckland police station, on (01388) 603566. A man has been questioned and released on bail pending further inquiries.

RIDER HURT: A scooter rider was taken to University Hospital of North Tees, Stockton, with back and neck injuries after he was involved in a collision with a taxi in the town during early hours of Saturday. Firefighters were called to the accident, in Norton Road, at 2.15am by the driver of the Ford Mondeo. They put a neck support on the injured man and made him comfortable until paramedics and an ambulance arrived.
